Welcome to the new SightBOX Studios Blog. SightBOX Studios is a brain child of two individuals who have come together to create a fusion of design practices in turn to create a one-stop-shop creative agency.

In this blog we’ll discuss and showcase our daily progressions of what we call work and also show you a bit of what we do on a daily basis. We’ll also discuss current design trends and design inspirations from fellow designers around the world.

In addition, we plan to discuss the latest tech gadgets, Eco friendly products, architecture, internet gems, home décor plus anything with design inspiration worth mentioning. Stay tuned and let the bloggin’ begin!

Who we are

Charlie Hinojosa

A native of El Paso, Texas, and an All-State Wrestler, Mr. Hinojosa began his career at Cisco Systems as an intern and was brought on to develop User Interface Design, developing numerous interfaces with cutting edge and intuitive designs used for internal field facing applications. With his UI knowledge, he customized applications, built custom JavaScript functionalities, and led efforts in establishing Web 2.0 practices and collaboration. His responsibilities included developing online E-Learning modules, and producing communication videos for senior management which he directed, shot, edited and published.

Over the last couple of years, he has consulted a number of Fortune 500 companies with creative ways to push their content via new media. He has created solutions for internets, intranets, extranets, portals and applications. In this latest effort, he has championed the use of online video and social media.

As Co-Founder and Creative Director of SightBOX, Mr. Hinojosa designed interactive web, flash, and mobile interfaces, as well as graphic design for marketing collateral and Corporate Identity for corporations, entertainment enterprises, and non-profits. In his latest venture—Sightbox Pictures, he has earned three awards: including Finalist for the Latino Screenplay Competition for “Final Fall” – a Latino-themed screenplay inspired by his life.

Mr. Hinojosa and his wife Cynthia currently live in Northern California where they have two daughters (Anyssa and Cianna).

Elias Tercero

Born and raise in Managua, Nicaragua post the Sandinista regime that caused one of the most beautiful countries in Central America to be shattered by war. Elias and his mother and youngest brother head it up north to The United States of America in 1992. Elias discovered his passion for art in high school, but it was not your typical art form, he felt in love with the underground art form of Graffiti or Tagging! but he soon found out that practicing this form of art illegally was not very conducing to truly expressing yourself and yet maintaining your freedom. Luckily he was exposed to Graphic design as a senior in High School in South Central L.A! He began to excel in the field and  after graduating from high school in 1998 was given the opportunity to attend the Multimedia University Academy part of the University of Southern California youth program.

After completing the 24 week basic training in Multimedia, Elias was asked to come back to the program, to be a graphic lab assistant for the next group of students, eventually he became one of the graphic design instructors for the program. He also was offered a graphic instructor position with the Los Angeles Housing authority and ran three housing projects graphic classes in the greater Los Angeles Area. After instructing for about 3 years Elias began to practice graphic design and started freelancing to build his portfolio. Elias journey has been vary interesting with no other form of art school degree or training he claims that he attended STU “Self Thought University”, his drive to become a designer has position him to work for: The Mortgage Store Financial Inc, USC Transportation, several La design firms. and in the apparel industry.

As Co-Founder and Branding Specialist of SightBOX, Mr. Tercero designed interactive web, flash, apparel design, as well as graphic design for marketing collateral and Corporate Identity for corporations, entertainment enterprises, and non-profits.

Elias is happily married to Jessica Tercero and have a beautiful daughter Elainy Tercero, they currently live in Glendale, CA a suburb of Los Angeles, CA
